Day 1: Pre-treatment Evaluation
Commence your 5-day or 8-day treatment and healing journey in The Bahamas with a focused consultation with our anesthesiology sedation team to ensure that your specific care needs are fully understood, and a customized sedation plan is curated for you. Any labs that are needed would be drawn at this time to ensure that you are poised for a safe and seamless procedural experience.
Day 2: The Uterine Artery Embolization (UAE) Treatment
In our dedicated facility, you will safely undergo the minimally invasive uterine artery embolization, aided by comforting medications for conscious sedation and local anesthesia to support the 2-millimeter rice grain-sized access incision. Dr. Higgins takes great care in expertly performing your procedure, which may last anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the complexity of the Fibroids and treatment. Depending on your peri-procedural evaluation, you’ll be monitored for 2-4 hours post-treatment and may be discharged to your boutique lodging or monitored in our facility for supportive post-procedure care, observation, and optimization.
